AusPIPS Joins With Australian Society For Medical Research IN Calling For Release Of Funding

On 10 March 2026 AusPIPS joined forces with the Australian Society for Medical Research and patient advocacy organisations from across Australia to call on The Hon Mark Butler, Minister for Health and Ageing, to release medical research funding from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

More than $1 billion is currently available to be released from the MRFF each year. This funding was established to support the health and medical research that improves diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for Australians, including those living with Primary Immune Deficiencies and Inborn Errors of Immunity. These funds have not been released due to the arbitrary $650 million cap.

Our joint letter is a unified call to action to release funding as intended to allow timely medical research investment.
